the fact that most people care more about britney spears being in rehab than the fact that 4 of our soldiers are in al qaeda hands, god knows what is happening to them, pretty much proves that this country has forgotten about 9/11.
I don't think American Society as a whole has started to forget about 9/11 but certain areas have.
Example: The Lack there of Homeland Security. I am surprised no terrorist attacks have happened because frankly it would be easy.

interesting. i think death and violence is being reported out of iraq everyday, the public has grown numb. same old same old. why the public doesnt grow numb over celebrity news, i have no idea. honestly, even for me the latter is easier to keep track of. its not because i think the latter is more important, or i put more energy into learning about it, i think it's because the news out of iraq seems much more uniform in comparison. similar news story everyday. plus the reality is much more disturbing. it requires work to listen to and digest. in comparison, following britney's reality is a kind of entertainment.Originally Posted by doug

i have to agree with you bart. It is entertainment v reality. And when people are faced with both, most choose entertainment.
