In the days 2 and 3 of June there will be a great skimboard contest in Espinho, in the north of Portugal, with the prize money of 250€ (almost 230$)
It is the second time that a contest of skimboard takes place in Espinho, but the organization is now hoping to have a more professional contest.
This event will have also lots of reggae music all day and nigh with a big beach reggae party.

he SkimJah, nucleus of skimboard and integrant part of the appraised club of nautical sports SurfJah, headquartered in Espinho, have the pleasure to announce the accomplishment of its first championship at national level to carry through in the weekend of 2 and 3 of June in the beach of Silvalde, city of Espinho. Skimboard, or skimming, is a nautica modality derivative of surf and in strong expansion in our parents, to each day that passes new practitioners appears what it makes of Portugal the country with as the bigger number of particiantes, then behind the United States. After the success of the first championship carried through in the north of the country, in the 2003, in the beach of the Bay, Espinho, organization of the event it felt necessity to carry through other, so good or even better that the first one, the chance appeared with the alliance to the SurfJah Club. In such a way in days 2 and 3 of June Championship SKIMJAH will be carried through, with the support of the Silvalde city hall, Espinho xity all and thanks to plus appositive in the spreading and an evolution of this sport, the spnsors, Invert Surfshop, Folha Skimboards and Tribo do Sol, and the partner Skimportugal.com. The championship will count with a prize money of 250€ for the Open, and some prizeys (facts, plates, clothes, accessories, valleys) for the others 2 categories, sub-18 and senior. During this weekend it will exist much animation and good disposal through the mixture of the culture of skimboard with the good vibrations of the music reggae. The best national athletes are confirmed, between them the current national champion in heading will be present and also European champion. The registrations have the price of 15€ for open and 10€ for the other categories, they will be acceptances until friday day 1/06, or in the morning of day 2/06 in the beach until 10H, but with the addition of 2 euros in the value of the registration, all the participants have gratuitous stay in camping site.
