    Default 3-d Printer

    http://www.desktopfactory.com/our_product/

priced 5-7 grand, that thing is gonna revolutionize business. I saw the spokesperson or whatever on msnbc she said by 2010-15 they would have the cost down to 1,000 dollars,

yes, but not a desktop system for 5K-7K. Go out and price a Selective Laser Sintering tool, and after you have spent all of this years and next years budget, hope you have some space available, becasue the typical footprint will take up half a room.

The one they had at my last school was about the size of an xerox machine and cost 10 grand and worked great. This was about 4-5 years ago.

i had one like that at my high school... except it carved your design out of wood, and it was alot more basic......except noone knew how to use it, not even my graphics teacher, so it was basically never used.

Those things are so cool. I remember when they first came out I read this big article on the future of the technology. Things like them being as common as desktop printers and for example you could go online and download a model car then your printer would print it out and stuff like that. Then the next generation can basically print out complex circuits, so say your TV remote breaks, you could go online and download the specs and your printer would print you out a new remote. Very cool shit.

yeah silky thats what i was thinking about. Pretty soon they are going to be able to produce shit from atomic blue prints. We will be able to just print out food, chemicals, computers, all cheaply and quickly. Just imagine designing a skimboard on the computer and having a machine just create it for you from scratch in 20 minutes.
