Noob Wax ???

Hey guys,
Im new to skimboarding, been watching videos online and fell in love with it, just bought my first board and tried to go this past weekend but had a hard time due to the temp of the water.. it was very cold.

Anyways, I was wondering if someone could help me with waxing the board. Do you do the bottom or the top, or both. And if there is a link that would explain it to me thatd be great.

Check the show your board thread, some of them show the wax applications. But yea, just on the top, and you really only need it in spots where your feet should be going. But... if you're new, then your feet might be going all over the place, so its up to you...

You're new and you acknowledged it so a lot of people on here will give you a hard time. Don't worry about the sarcasm, that's what makes Skim Online fun. Like IslandBoy said, just put surf wax on the top. There is no harm using a lot so get it on there good. You can put wax on the bottom but not surf wax. Putting like car wax, or bowling alley wax on the bottom might help you a bit with increasing your speed depending on what board you have. Hope that helps.

Mr. Zogs Sex Wax is my favorite, they have stuff specifically for your water temp. so it stays on your board longer.

Get your board wet, and put the wax on vertically and horrizonltally to get "stick bumps" work in a little sand too. if your a beginner you might as well cover most of the board in wax, cause no one likes to slip and get a nice slam into the sand.

the board doesn't need wax on the bottom, some like to put it for speed (not sticky wax, but bowling wax or car wax) but i don't know anyone personally that does it, i tried it once but didn't notice a difference.

You're right, everyone does want to be a comedian, and a few of them do a good job too. Learn to enjoy the sarcasm. You get a much smoother ride if you swim with the current then you do against it.
