I'm sure an auto enthusiast like you has already seen this, but I just found out about it today.
What are the estimated specs? Price?

Jeff is asian..... waaaaaa
hows my posting?

The info has been hard to find on the GTR. The definite powertrain and pricing info has not been released yet. The best bets are:
-A variation of the current 3.5 v6.....with bigger dispacement and a Twin Turbo.
-Some sort of AWD system.
-Some sort of paddle shifted 7 speed gear box that most will hate.
-msrp between $65000-75000.
Either way its going to be a beast and continue the legacy of the GT-R.
$65-75k is a dissapointment. I was expecting it to be more in the Corvette range. Granted its probably going to be a lot faster, but for that price I'd much rather be looking towards a BMW M series.

I'd take the vette's easily modable v8 over that... but regardless that car looks sick.
They are aiming more at 911 turbos with this car. At the stated price point it would out perform m5's and m6's.
Once this car comes out it will become THE car to beat at that price.
watch toyota follow this action with the supra. I am calling it right now, it will happen.
I heard they were dropping a v8 into it and thats what made alot of people dislike the fact of the new gt-r. And as far as the new vettes, the z06 is producing 500 hp so if you think about that thats a big hurdle to get over
Zap, SPY, Indo Board, Nekton, La Trill Grillz
there is no better horsepower to money value than the vette
The V8 thing has really been squashed. Nissan has all but confirmed the car will be a twin turbo. So that pretty much means a v6, becuase the car is too small for a ttv8. Especially any v8 that nissan makes.
The next Supra will be a beast......Im sure Toyota will follow suit.
I've always been a luxury over speed guy. I'll trade a few ticks on 0-60 for the interior and creature comforts of a bmw or mercedez.

meh the ugliest skyline chassis ever
if they were gonna be the Skyline to the US market they should have down it with the one thats ALREADY in Japan
but the thing is that got everyone concerned/hyped up
this new model does not use the RB26DET the legendary Skyline Motor that has enternals that will hold around 1000HP stock
someone posted its gonna be a V6? hmmmm i would have to research that becuz all Skylines are straight 6's
sorry i didnt get on this as soon as possible was sleeping :P
my opinion on the post listed on top
if its gonna be 75k region, frack ill buy the older version over that ugly shitter and mod it straight around 1000hp and STILL have money to goddamn spare

BWHAHAHAHAHA gay
apparently Jeff is not the guy to ask about this.
indeed im pretty much bias to AWD systemsOriginally Posted by Mapdash
i have worked on a 240 RB26, Datsun Z RB26 and Skyline
the thing is, the car is heavy...... very heavy
AWD, AWS, Heavy ass chassis, Heavy ass Engine and Tranny. its the only flaw it truly has.
I remember the first time I raced one, a guy from Miami (silver skyline) same car i worked on
He just bough the thing through MotorREX or something and I beat him horribly 3 buslengths
now that hes got mods now, he can spank me if i still had the MR2
its going to be the sickness.
sweet its got the 350z headlights....psh
why would they use ideas from the 350 to pack into that
even though the 350 has the same platform...minus the turbos...
such as the infinity G35
its basically the g35 and the 350z molded together with some lame carbon fiber accents and a cple turbos
i agree with jeff
ship over ye' ol' one and pump that bitch up
i was behind a Z on the interstate yesterday that had a Z Turbo logo on the back.

No thats not what i meant. It appears you dont know much about the new GT-R.Originally Posted by Jeff.Liu
NONE of the turbo kits available for the Z give you a turbo emblem. I do agree with you about keeping it stock looking though. If they cant figure it out from the FMIC then frack em.Originally Posted by skimsolven19

all I see driving STI's and evo's is kids around here.......worse with evo's though.
i like the impreza's and sti's i might even get one.. like an 03 though.. theyre pretty expensive... the AWD is what puts it at the top for terrbile new jersey winters and esp. over the evo because everybody's got one
this is why i dont like AWD systems
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasitic_loss
what you see on the sticker at the dealership for EVOs and STIs
take that and subtract around 75-85 HP
and thats your real hp for a AWD system
ill find some dyno sheets on stock STIs and EVOs
of course this applies to FWD and RWD
but its much less around 35-45 HP loss
ive seen kids in their stock AWD cars go on dynos expecting near the same HP as on the sticker and come out very very disapointed
all the stock evos and stock stis are are good HANDLING cars, until engine work is done
ok so u lose some horsepower...big deal?Originally Posted by Jeff.Liu
u still have all that traction and 4wheels pounding that horsepower to thetarmac
not 2.
idc what u say...awd is the way to go...traction owns ANY rwd setup
