Skimmers VS. Spongers

ok. so... i have nothing personally against spongers. ok ya i guess i do. they sit there (in our way) floating around like little bouys, waiting for a wave thats just gonna crush them anyway. doesnt look like fun to me even though its so easy to lean down a wave. skimming takes so much more skill and talent, and its a thousand times more fun. and whats with them taking our siders? the water is shallow enough where they can stand and they hardly ever bother looking back to see if a skimmer is coming up behind em. i apologize if a similar thread has been posted. one day they will learn theyre lesson.

Not cool. Bodyboarders do their own thing, they usually are far out of my way unless the shorebreak is epic. I mean how mad can I be, if I hit them I fall and they goto the hospital (not like I'm gonna hit them though). I hate it when people hate on other boardsports and spongers, especially when skimboarding is underrespected as is. If they don't have a problem with skimming who cares, I hate little kids and fat people who watch you skim for an hour then come stand right infront of you like they are fracking retarded, atleast the spongers are doing something. Also I've seen kids get pretty nasty on sponges and sometimes they come out and skim their sponges trying to show me up, haha.

yea deff. not cool. Spongers do they're own thing and they have their opinions too, so until your the sponger gettin snaked by a skimmer or gettin in some massive shorebreak shut up.

sponging tourist are the most annoying. They are out on the Gulf's shorebreak, when it is less than 2'' high. It's retarded and annoying, and they are out there trying to paddle to ride it waaaay back in the whole 2 feet, while in the middle of the best breaking spot.

I have nothing against dick draggers.. I on occasion when its big will sponge at Aliso.

But most spongers that due it realigously I've met have been alittle slow.. doesn't mean i hate them I just think there funny.

There is a difference between what you describe as a sponger and a true bodyboarder. Obviously you've never witnessed or done the latter....so you really don't have any idea of what you're talking about.

I don't like to get in people's ways and I dont like people to get in my way; therefore, when bodyboarding, I go very far from shore where the waves are bigger (Tow out on seadoo). So I guess I have no real problems with bodyboarders here. Its just when they are in your way when you were there first (usually tourists or some dumbass kid w/ parents who dont give a shit about me). Thats just rude and annoying but I deal with them (lets just say the water turns a shade of brown around them when I spray them or air over them lol)
