    hey does any1 no if the water is skimable at long point or turkey point ontario???? right no on may 18

    anything is skimmable as long as it's not frozen. wetsuit is your friend.

    and gloves, booties, and hood. although if its really cold and you need something 7mm thick it might not be worth it seeing as it would be hard to walk much less skim.

    how cold is it up there? i've been skimming the 50degreeish water around here with my shortie suit, any colder and i can't do it too long.

    I skimmed the US side of Lake Erie today, it was tolerable with shorts and a top. Air was about 53 with a slight wind...

    Yeah right now on lake michigan the water is pretty cold, i skimmed last weekend with a wetsuit on and some home made booties haha. But my head was getting cold after getting takin out by a few waves. The air was really cold to iwth all the wind. I think if its decently warm out like 60 or above you should be fine with just a wetsuit.

    We have an "interesting skim spot out here that we call Cancer Cove. It's right next to a power plant, so the water is in the 70s-80s. Hopefully my gear still works in a few years

    just suit up and you can pretty much skim any water not frozen

    Save up! a realy nice wetsuit will cost you alot but keep you alot warmer without constricting you.
