not to knock the american version, but the english version is better, although i've seen more of the english version so i might change my mind, but as much as i love carell, gervais is way better in the role

I thought it has stayed really good lately. His whole speech to the college class with the cnady bars was hilarious

Its gotten better now, with there being to sub plots.

Its way better than the brit version, just because of Steve Carrol mainly.

I hate feeling embarrassed... even by Michael Scott. Hes just such a douche. Yet, hes still a great character.... thats what she said.

ok so a friend of mine is also a really big seinfeld fan, and he claims that this show is the new seinfeld. not necessarily the same plot or story line but the same type of humor im guessing. im debating whether i should watch it or not. can someone tell me why i should/shouldnt?

just quit bein a bitch and watch it. its hilarious. actually though, what do you guys think? does he have to watch most of the episodes leading up to now, or do you think he'd like it as much just tuning in now?
btw, this shows humor isnt much like seinfeld. as teddy said, its full of awkward situations, physical humor, and dialogue. seinfeld is just dialogue. thus the laugh track. the office doesnt have a laugh track cuz theyd be laughin the whole time.

Never seen the English version, but from what I've seen that the English people I know think is funny, I wouldnt expect much from the Brit Office. English comedy just seems like really simplistic comedy, and they laugh at everything.

Oh well, no matter, the U.s. office is the shit and thats all...

the kramer, its not a deadly drug that it may just be worth watching. its a show. theres no downside to watching it so yes. also, its my fav show right after seinfeld.

www.alluc.org can catch you up. it has every episode from all 3 seasons (that have been released anyway)

The show is simply brilliant - the characters are much more complex than you'd think with just one watch.

I would suspect it has much more impact for the folks that have actually worked a corporate gig (I only have as a result of an ACQ) - we definitely "Jim'ed it up" while we were there:

My CFO was getting a little older and had mentioned his concern about his vision - so I grease penciled a mark on the projector, slightly off focus, and told everyone NOT to say anything. The following week, I'd bump it a little further out of focus, and so on - watching his progression from a mild squint to a full on eye rub was amazing.

One day he came to work with a new prescription and the lenses were so thick he could probably have seen through walls...

[side note: I guess I'm breaking my one-post-per-day rule, er, not even sure why I had self imposed that in the first place...]

Ricky Gervais is absolutely hilarious. He plays the same type of role in Extras on HBO. you have to have a dry sense of humor to appreciate it. i think its fantastic.
