Yeah I skimmed somewhat similar conditions (a little worse than that) during thanksgiving break there. It was fun.

i dont recall what week that was because there was a month and a half straight where the sand built up and it was good at pretty much all tides. that was a smaller morning and a little chill in the air but when the fog left it was super warm. the water there was probably low 60's.

UCSB may be sick, but UCI and UCSC beat the pants off UCSB for skim. UCSD too.

yea, but all those places have other skimmers that want and compete for waves. i have only skimmed with one other guy in town and he couldnt even get on the wave. the other younger guys went off to college somewhere else.

sometimes the wave will kick a sider off that sandbar and make little wedges down the beach. the sand is gone but down the beach it should start working for winter swells.

honestly the skim sucks. it rarely works and there are too many hot girls on the beach to pay attention to the skim. you dont want to skim here.
