Default Stupid Question about Jesus Christ.....

Does Jesus Christ have a middle name? What is it? These are thoughts that come to me while watchiing the playoffs I guess. I hope his middle name starts with an "H".

Christ is not his last name.

    Christ is a title.

When refering to someone in those times instead of last names you would say...

    Joseph-son of david

    Jesus- son of Joseph.

Jesus most likely had no middle name. (to my knowledge, really never studied that issue of Jesus)

People refer to him as "Jesus Holy Christ"

So people also call him Jesus H. Christ.

So you kinda can use that.

I'd go out on a limb to say that middle names were not used in Jesus' time by the lower class. The more romanized upper class may have adopted the roman naming system though.

But see I am speaking as a history major.

I would not refer to him as the son of god, but rather as the son of Joseph.

I think Narwhal is right. In these times jewish males were called "son of" Kind of "Ben bla bla bla". In some older books he is mentioned as Jesus from or of Nazareth.
