    what category?

    what size?

    what power?

the world's "loudest" and "most powerful" subwoofer is the Eminent Tech TRW 17. it's not a cone woofer, it's a fan woofer. it can hit freq as low as 1Hz. your premier shallow mounts might hit 25 hertz on their best days.

the world record for automobile audio SPL is now 182.6. it was reached at nationals recently, so i doubt you will find much info on it. 10 Arc Audio 12" flatlines. the previous world record for SPL was held by TEAM PIONEER (who, if you research a little, you will see use arc audio, diamond audio, and mcintosh products to modify their equipment) modified premier 6000spl's at 180.3. so, if you want to call those "premiers," then be my guest. 187 decibels would shatter your ear drums. like i said earlier though, you won't find much info on SPL anyways, because the people that care about it are either wiggers or wannabe gangsters, not that there's much difference. the premier shallow mounts are completely different from anything else in the pioneer premier lineup. your shallow mounts are a stolen prototype design from alpine, whose subs leave a lot to be desired, and whose subs you were calling shitty earlier. so, i guess you're happy with shitty subs. hah. there's a lawsuit about it somewhere, google it.

and bbskimmer, sorry, commence with the sale.

why "bump?" i don't get it. i'm sure you're all middle/upper-middle class, college bound, intelligent individuals. why brittle your Stereocilia and destroy your hearing? why would you want people to associate you with the "you know who's," who's, by the way, shattering SPL is neither impressive, nor likely to land them a girl in bed (contrary to what they believe). i'm sure the stock system in your BMW will do just fine, no? maybe i'm just jaded from living in the bay area for the past two years.

182dB-SPL is re-cockulous! i mix rock shows that are no where close to that level. oh well, as long as you turn your "shit" down when stopped next to old people i don't really care....carry on

did you read any of my posts? i explained that people in the car audio industry care very little about SPL. the main focus of car audio to real enthusiasts is SQL(sound quality). i drive a tacoma. i wouldn't drive a bmw if i had to.

you just went up about 10,000 points in my book, sam. tacoma's are the illest device ever conceived by man. i've had three, and cannot see myself ever owning another vehicle. my '07 leaves nothing to be desired...i got a manual of course.

that's awesome. i have an 06. i kinda wish i had the 07 seats though. have you done anything to it yet? the other day i ordered the TRD rims that come on the TRD FJ's. they're sooo sick. i'll match them up with 32" toyo MT's and i'll be done for a while. i just got the sr52 prerunner because trd/4x4 was too much, and i planned on getting new suspension with a lift later so i didn't see the point on spending more cash on suspension. not to mention i don't really like the sport hood scoop because i think non-functional scoops are stupid. they offered A LOT of options on the 07's that the 06's didn't have that i modded on mine. i added daytime running lights, footwell lights, and interior red lighting to match the stock color. i also modded my map lights to come on with my dome lights when i unlock/open the doors because it was a little dim in the cab for me. i also added bed lights. i took driving lights and mounted them flush with the forward wall of the forward cubby holes in the bed and they're shooting backwards. they're a little bright, but they're really sick at night if i'm unloading/loading stuff in the bed. sometime soon i'm going to be adding backup lights under the trailer hitch and side ground lights right behind the front mud flaps. that's the ONLY bad thing about the truck: its lack of reverse lighting. oh and i added a Lund screen grille. i've been thinking about taking the TOYOTA emblem from the front of the new FJ's and taking a grillecraft black screen grille and putting the emblem on it and replacing my stock grille/screen with that. i think it would look sick. i've also been considering the black headlight housing mod. it looks kinda like the dodge charger lights or wahtever. it's sick. but yeah, that's my tacoma rant.

yup only noobs care about spl. thats why you see all these douches with comp vrs and audiobahns. they sound like ass but noobs dont care what their subs sound like as long as theyre loud enough for people outside their car to notice that theyve got a system. I like my a lot of bass but its gotta be clean. strictly spl subs are only cool for contests.

haha ken. the pioneer premier line is a great line for sure, but it's not the best speaker in the world. it was premier 6000's, but what i was telling you earlier is that Team Pioneer hardly has anything pioneer in their setup. they just use the name and the casings. all the components they use on their speakers/amps are from other, better brands. i'll look around online and see if i can give you a link. the main point is, though, that there is a HUGE difference between premier shallow mounts and 6000spl's, one of those being about 10 inches difference in mounting depth and magnet size. ken, one day when i go down your way, we will fish, and i will dominate. it's a date.

I might be interested how much you want for just the subs and box? Wouldn't that amp be too strong for those subs? Why so much power? I currently need to pay for my apartment right now but maybe in the near future. I really want a system. Lemme know.

the amp will be fine. it's probably being measured at 1000w at 2ohm, which would be 500w at 4ohm, which is the impedance that these subs run at. that's 250w to each sub. if it's too loud for you, which i highly doubt it would be, you can always decrease the gain on the amp itself.
