I've read the comparissions on all the sites and stuff, have never seen a broken board in person, so is it really worth it paying the extra money to get a stronger board or not.

go with s- glass. dont even worry about an explanation. just do it

i'd go with carbon all the way.
its me.
in my experience carbon is like this: if you have a stick, it will snap because it isnt flexible. if you have like a plastic pen, it will bend and resist snapping. carbon is like the stick. s-glass is like the pen. my new years resolution is to use weird analogies that are hard to understand

I prefer S glass. The extra money for carbon doesnt make sense if you go through a new board a year or two, or even faster. I know people will tell you that pros ride carbon for a reason, but I would tell you that pros dont usually have to pay for their boards. If pros stopped getting flowed boards I'm guessing many would ride e-glass.

i'd go with carbon and a extra sheet of s glass on the bottom. thats my plan for my next board.

I have an e glass with an extra layer and it's served by fatass just fine so far.
most pros I know would pay extra for carbon.
in your stick analogy you forgot to mention that the "carbon one" is a stronger stick. So stiff and strong versus not as strong and flexible.
personally I think that if the benefit of any material is unproven, it is sglass. The numbers state a slight performance benefit but its been pretty much impossible to detect from my experience. Numerous colleagues in the composites industry with whom I have spoken have echoed those sentiments.
i love my new carbon board.
btw, anyone know the materials they use for a foamie?eglass?crappy ass foam?
plastic

BlakSkimmer had the best analogy for this. The trees of different thickness one. Yeah.
