    Default FS: Element Skateboard

I'll post pics soon. I bought it a year ago for a sliding board, but I'm not into sliding at all. It's never been ridden. I applied grip tape on there but you can take it off.. it's got stickers on there but they will come off and be put on another skateboard. It's got massive concave. Painted white. Deck only. It's your standard popsicle stick size. Make me an offer.

why'd you buy a board for sliding if you don't slide?

I bought the deck thinking I was going to slide with it. Waited to buy the hardware and wheels for it. Then just decided not to get into it. More into longboard carving more than anything.

Have you ever seen the old 80's skate movie "Thrashin" with Josh Brolin? Its a frackin sick movie where the vally kids battle the Daggers, but the main cat from the vallie's gang falls for the kid sister of the main cat from the Daggers. Anyways, at the end of the movie there is a big ass down hill race where they slide around bends in the road by putting their hands on the road while hauling ass and the board does like a huge ass power slide. I'm assuming thats what she means...

Here is the scene to what I was talking about
The sliding starts at 7:30 into the vido.

The movie is sick. Cameo appearance by Red Hot Chilly Peppers back when they were still an unheard of punk band. The sound track has The Circle Jerks on it. Plus it is a piece of my youth, so frack you if you don't like it...

You guys are definitely New School. Yes.. Sliding is basic powersliding downhill.. you wear gloves doing it. As you go downhill you put both hands down on the ground and just slide. It was invented by Cliff Coleman. He wanted to learn how to stop going downhill in emergencies, and show others how to do it as well. It has saved many people's skating lives for sure.

that sliding vid is pretty good, it's even sicker when you're in the mts and you've got a hill steep enough so that you don't really lose much speed and can keep it going continuously, but you gotta work with whatcha got!

Well... I decided to change my mind and just repaint the board with my artwork on there and just sell it on ebay. It'll go to a good home I think.

just google it. Sliding gloves. Or you can make your own out of gardening gloves and a plastic cutting board. There's more to life than just doing tricks on a popsicle stick at the skate park. There's all sorts of skateboarding activities out there. Slalom racing , Downhill racing (on speed boards), Sliding, Luge racing, or just plain down hill carving. Well, I live in the mountains during the school year so it's awesome to skate the hills here.
