Default Arch bar or full padding

I know its all what you like personally but I like both equally and I cant make up my mind. Should I just put and arch bar on my new board or should I put an arch bar and stripper pad?

i really like arch bars. my foot is just so comfy with it.

i like putting an arch bar and then a couple of the extra small pad pieces that come with the back pad alongside the arch, and then light wax or the fly paper grip everywhere else.

personally i like the plain arch bar, i used to think i would like padding around the arch bar because wax can be a pain in the ass and i get sick of it getting all over my car and yadayada, but then i rode my buddies board that had traction around the arch, and i hated it because i have high arches and i need the arch bar to actually be raised above the surface where the rest of my foot is

so you might want to take into account the arch of your foot, if you have high arches i definitely recommend no other pads

i like my arch bar with padding to the sides, because i dont have a very big arch my feet are pretty flat. But the arch bar is still taller than the side pads so i still get good grip from the small arch in my foot that i do have. When i use a full arch bar it feels like either my heel or toes (depending which way im leaning) dont have enough pressure on the board.

I have used both and I like both but I couldn't decide. I'm gonna put on just the arch bar and wax and if I end up not likeing it I can always scrape the wax off and put of pads. Thanks for the help.

Like Prophet said. It really depends on the arch of your foot. I used to buy arches all the time. Then i realized that i have pretty flat feet and the arch does a lot more harm than good....in my case.

get the arch and strippers, I did the same thing with my new board.. if you spread the strippers far enough away from the arch it should be fine for you to feel the arch, I have both a waxed board with an arch and a board with arch and padded, I like the padded better, I hated the wax and arch..

if you dont feel like paying for an arch bar, you can just go to home depot or some place and get "traction pads" that you put in your bathtubs or on wet stairs. they are just strips of traction with adhesive on the bottom...and they work fine for me as a front pad (round off the corners so sand doesnt get underneath them)

just buy 70 archbars and cover your whole board. that would be cool. all the kids would be doing it in a month.
