I was looking for some ideas on what kind of artwork I could do for a skimboard. It would probably some type of 1 to 2 layer stencil that is spraypainted on. Any ideas?

me and bud do surfbaord and skimboard art , kinda like freelance shit for sume xtra cash, i can smack yea wit sum of our paint if you want ideas
Any stencil tips you want you can talk to me. I do a lot of stenciling in my free time. I've posted these pics like a thousands times now but here is what you can do with a stencil + a piece of wood..(shaped into a skimboard like figure)
The op ivy stencil
The checker stencil
Laguna stencil on my rocker
And the skateboard that I made because its just that cool
P.S. Don't give me shit about my Laguna stencil....no I'm not sponsored by LS&S...blah blah...I go to school in SLO so its just my way to tell the other skimmers that my homebreak is Laguna and feel cool. When I go home I'm probably just gonna sand off the Surf and Sport part and leave Laguna..
Blah blah blah...now don't give me shit

i like your style...it's a little rough but i'm assuming that could have a lot to do with the stencils.
is your avatar something you did? you might like this guy: http://www.aaronbaggio.com/
Yeah is stuff is pretty sweet. I like most low-brow artOriginally Posted by 4evrskm::Derek
Vic4yo- I like your stuff it's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking of doing. In the check design did you glass that board yourself? If you did what kind of glass (oz.) did you use
Ezkivin- do you have any examples of your work
Yeah I did glass it myself. Its not too hard if you just plan ahead a little. Eh.....not really sure if i remember what glass i used. I didn't go to a surf shop or speacial order it or anything. Got it a lowe's. I think it was 4 oz but i could be wrong. BTW, make sure to get the right kinda resin when you glass. The type I used, which was a pretty generic type, gives the board a yellow tint to it. They make a special type that will keep it clear. Maybe check out surf shops for that.Originally Posted by skimnj973
Looks better now that I've rode my board for a couple months with that on there
hey, what's up with that laguna surf and sport stencil thing?
do you ride for them?

Vic,
How did you do the spattered checkmarks, they are sick.
Thanks Vic4Yo, I'd liek to shape and glass my own soon since I've glassed one surfboard but I'm still trying to find some rocker designs for shaping it as well as cheap foam. Maybe I'll do an EPS foam board?
I'll test out some stencils I've been working on during by the end of the week on some wood for tests and post pics.
Well obvious I used a stencil...cause this is what the post is about but here are some pics of the cutouts if that is what you are wondering about.Originally Posted by SkimSF

Vic4Yo, deffinately very hawt.
Damn Vic4yo you tite wit the art.
Can you tell me how to make a stencil plz?
you cut shit out and then tape it down and spray paint at it and then when its dry you pull the stencil off?
Does anyone else thing it's a bad idea to put that many bricks on a glass table or is that just me?Originally Posted by Vic4Yo
that table is sick, it looks plenty sturdy. though i would definitely think the ground would have been effective enough for this experiment
yeah ground--and wet the wood frequently

What do you guys use to gloss over your stencils? Or make them last. I might do this with the extra spray paint I have laying around.
