Default Do you ever wash your board shorts????

Now on this topic I've only ever heard one school of thought....

to never wash your board shorts....

Last weekend my on again off again girlfriend got a hold of all my board shorts that were as usual, mildly mildewing in the back of my ride.... she washed em all and now I am out for a week while my stiches heal... WTF.

Do you guys ever wash your board shorts??? if so... how? and how often?

is it unlucky to wash them in your opinion???

    thanx

only if i leave them in my skimbin with the top closed for too long after not having rinsed them out, then they get that sea water-mildew-funk and smell like asshole, usually i rinse em out with fresh water after the beach and they are fine

I wash them after almost every session. If you don't wash them they smell like someone has been wipeing their ass with them.

I leave mine in my backpack and in my car. This way they smell really bad and then you can go stand next to the tourists to make them slwoly move down the beach and out of your way.

Thats nto the real reason I am just lazy. And mine smell horrible 24/7 I shold really wash them.

I think it was Steve Taylor two summers ago who had the worst smelling boardshorts ever. You literally couldnt go within a 10 ft radius of the guy. So he had a pretty nice buffer on the beach where he got to skim by himself. Well done Steve.

I took that smelly boardshort concept and applied it to everyday life hahha

Like others, I take them off in the shower and rinse the sand and salt out. Then I throw them into the sink until I get out of the shower. Then I throw them in the dryer and dry them. Every once in a while I'll wash them, though. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

I used to never wash them in high school and they smelled so bad, so eventually I ended up with herpes.

    damned boardshort herpes.

i just jump in a pool or hottub after each session, and that tends to clean 'em up. they never smell bad, just like chlorine.

It ain't like its bad luck for the rest of your life or anything... More often Ive found that Its bad luck for the first session after they are cleaned....

I have a pair of lucky board shorts and it is particularly so for them... they do not like to be washed... I bought them for 20 bucks as I was walking down to 26th ave in summer 2000 from some kid riding a cruzer (definately stolen from oneils).... They are the most comfortable stlye ever made in my opinion and I will wear them until they disinegrate off my body....

i live in residence right now (finishing 2nd year electrical engr... chicks dig it).... if i know i'm skimming multiple days in a row i'll just hang my board shorts up and let them dry, then use them again hahaha. i'm sure there's hygenic problems with that, but i'm not paying $6 to wash and dry a pair of shorts each day.

Sometimes when I get home I'll just throw them in the dryer with the sand in em and all, but thats only if I cant just get one of my other pairs of boardshorts for that day...my advice to you is buy more boardshorts...
