so to day i went to the wall, sider was workin, so i tryed to learn how to ride one. came close a few times but not too much. here are some pics

ps. sorry if im not the best skimmer, and my mom took the pics. with a sony cybershot, cause i know one of you will ask.

lol. working sider? haha. Probably not until the sand gets shifted a bit and we get some groundswell. Also, that seaweed is less than appetizing.

clean Wall periods are the best times of the year. It's almost as if the sun shines a little brighter. Life seems more worth living. Warm, angelic choirs can be heard in the distance.

the wall is a tease. Here's why:
-It always looks a LOT better from the top of the wall, and in photos
-There is rarely a clean face to hit without trough
-There is an outer reef that breaks when the swell gets just a liiiitle too high
-Seaweed is thick, rotting, smelly, and dangerous
-There are pieces of reef right below the surface in some areas that can be hazardous
-The sider needs several precise factors to come together to work, which never seem to do so at once
-When the sider does actually connect it's still the most difficult sider in socal to ride
-When it sucks, there's usually nowhere in at least 40 minutes in any direction with skim. And it sucks pretty often.
-The whole beach can easily get wiped away by big swells during the wintertime
-And, as of recent, there is plenty of undue drama in the skim scene. meh.

its true. whenever im at the top of the wall or on the rocks it always looks good and then i get down there and theres no slope, troughy, seaweed, etc

No joke, Ryon. Thanksgiving was pretty sweet though, I think we all had fun just goofing off and enjoying the day. I have a feeling it will be an enjoyable winter in SD, regardless of conditions, but we're sure to have some sick days ahead.
