Default In desperate need of better backup software.

    So, here's the current situation.

I have 400+gb of music, photos, and video I need to back up. My laptop has 500gb of memory, so all of that crap cannot hang out on the internal drive. I have two external 2tb drives. What I want to do is be able to hook up to one of these external drives, dump photos/videos on it, and have some software update the other drive to make an exact replica of that drive on the other external drive. Then remove those files from my main laptop drive. On top of this, I want the files that are on my laptop's drive (school/work documents) to also be backed up onto both external drives.

I haven't found anything that does this well, or maybe I'm just an idiot, but does anyone have suggestions for something that would fit the bill?

the read/write speeds is what usually separates the $100 from the $500 hard drives. and i'm guessing you meant to say you have two 2Tb drives, not 2Gb

you don't need backup software. ctrl-c on the source, ctrl-v on the destination.
All messed up and slightly twisted.

I don't agree. Simple manual coping doesn't save you from need to update your music/photos & documents. See this soft @MAX SyncUp. Easy-to-use, incremental copying, can back up online and to NAS that may be useful for you in the future .
