    Question Troubleshooting

I recently started skimming and have been going almost every day for about a week. I can get on the board with a one-step and slide about 80% of the time. However, as soon as I get both feet on the board I usually start slowly spinning in a clockwise direction and end up hitting the waves or deeper water with my heelside first...almost always ending in the board shooting out from under me and me falling forward. How can I prevent this from happening or correct it if it happens?

I'm a regular footed rider by the way. Also, is it expected that when on the sand it is difficult to turn or spin the board until hitting the water?

    Thanks in advance!

Keep your shoulders strait with your feet.

Your board may not have enough rocker, rocker helps keep the board going straight. Not many people know this, I found this out by making a foam skim dead flat with just a few inches of nose rocker......rode like shit too.

I doubt it has to do with the board itself. If you just started, it sounds like you need practice. With more practice your balance will improve and you should have an easier time controlling your body movements. If worse comes to worse, you can always just pretend you are practicing your spins Keep at it. If skimboarding was easy, we'd all be pros.
