    Cool New Forum Suggestion

Hey guys, i was lokking for some advises for a trip to cabo and i realised that it would be much easier if there was a forum dedicated to that in skimonline, something like "Skim trips" so that all the topics related to trips, advises, experiences, suggestions of trips would be in the same place. What do you think?

Lol I was just thinking yesterday that it'd be cool to have a weight/hight thread. A central place where we could collect board recommendations based on the given details. I think it would cut down on redundant posts and easier to sift through than the sticky.

You can make a thread "The Official Skim Trips thread". You want another section when people still post pictures of their boards in the Skimboard Discussion. It's fine the way it is and anymore sections are basically just going to be forgotten sections.

The sticky made by Chrith is probably the best thing that's happened to Skimboard Discussion. Someone who is interested in getting a board should easily be able to look through 5 pages of info and recommendations.

Yeah I'm new to skimming and after wading through the sticky I still had tons of questions. (I think that it could be edited down to about 3 pages) I just see the height/weight question posted all the time so I thought a thread of just those would help eliminate clutter.

One thing i've noticed is that location is a big factor. it seems people on the west coast can get away with a size smaller than the rest of the country. So height/weight is just 2/3 of the real answer. I live by lake erie and I'm pretty happy with my medium foamie but wonder if I could/should have went to large. I don't have another $200 to find out. All in all I'm super happy but now that I have a more physical hobby in skimming I'm starting to gain a little weight and I see me ordering another board for next summer.

Anyway, I just figured a universal height/weight thread would help in eliminating the 4-5 individual height/weight threads started every week. Just my two cents. No refunds ;-)

I do see where your coming from but all in all its preference, not what some kid on the internet rides. Try out boards and have a good time

I'm planning to go during the 2013 UST cabo contest and stay a couple weeks. Do you live there?
