I can't wait for it
Can't wait for it*
I'm here now. There were lots of good riders on the beach tonight. We should be getting some slight hurricane swell tomorrow and really nice waves Sunday. I can't wait to watch the pros rip it up.
Sam Stinnet was shredding it up today. He scored a 120 today in the early rounds. We had some awesome waves today and he was taking advantage of them. I know he and Blair Conklin made it to the later rounds but didn't get to watch those rounds to see who advanced to tomorrow.
I got to watch Blair Conklin, Sam and Jake Stinnet, Brandon Spears, Morgan Just and a few of the zap pros warm up before the pro semi finals this afternoon. That was a really neat experience. I had to leave before the last heat of pros rode to trim down to the finals. Sam Stinnet and one of the Zap pro (don't know name) were looking the best. The waves were big again today but the wind was terrible and was preventing the riders from getting out to the larger waves. Hurricane Isaic was pumping out 20 plus mph. Winds and was causing the waves to be incredibly choppy.
Sam Stinnet wins it. I wish I could have stayed to watch the final round (darn job and 4 hour ride).

Contest photos and coverage.
And now for some NOT-pro footage. This is what happens when you get old, live 4 hours from a decent skimming beach, and don't get to practice much...
