I'm coming out to San Diego and staying at the Marriott in Mission Valley on August 17-19. I know I wont be able to tell if there is surf til the surf report can say. But I was wondering if some locals can link me to where the spots are or the best surf report for the skim spots.

edit: also, if you have time to spare and a car to take, laguna is only about an hour or so drive north and it's much more consistant than anything down here.

lately windansea has been fun on a low, 1-2ft foot tide. But its always changing. Most likely marine or windan will be your best bet.

i think i'll probably just go to windansea. best on low, mid, or high tide? what about parking?

Parkings not too bad at windansea because of all the residential parking. Marine street can get pretty crowded though.

And you can always walk to marine from windan or vice versa.

nope its a $50 dollar ticket.

Most people trunk it, i normal wear a top but thats just because my skin shines like diamonds in the sun.

that pic is very deceiving BTW. I was there yesterday and it was troughy, seaweedy, and rocky.
