Default Controversial t-shirt design offends Asians....somb Asians, are you offended?

Seems to be an unwritten rule that no one gives a shit when you say racist shit against Asians.

    General Li had me dying.

A major skateboard company is being accused of putting "racism for sale" ... after selling a shirt featuring two Asian men under the words, "Gooks of Hazzard."

The company under fire is Baker Skateboards ... which is owned by skating legend Andrew Reynolds ... who's been featured as a character in several of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games.

Baker is currently selling the "Hazzard" shirt on its website. The shirt features two Asian men in a car named the "General Li." One of the men is pro skater Don "The Nuge" Nguyen -- who's sponsored by Baker.

The shirt also features a tagline, "Good Orr Boys" ... a play on the stereotype of an Asian accent.

But while it appears The Nuge approves of the shirt, the Asian American Justice Center feels differently ... a rep for the organization tells us it's "unacceptable for Baker Skateboards to create a depiction of Asian Americans which uses racial slurs and perpetuates racist stereotypes.”

The org. adds, "Baker Skateboards, and the outlets that sell this shirt, should be aware that use of the term 'gook' on their apparel is offensive and quite simply amounts to racism for sale. No one should seek to profit from racism.”

We reached out to Baker Skateboards -- as well as Don “The Nuge” Nguyen -- so far, no word back from either.

Sounds like people getting offended just because they could. Shirt is from a skating company, most people hate skaters today anyways. Its tasteless, but its not racist. Also the Nuge is fracking sick.

I think its racist, funny and harmless. I feel like racism often has more to do with context and intent more so than actual content. It bothers me people are having such a narrow view of the situation.

There seems to be a phenomenon lately whereby anything deemed offensive is also automatically "racist". I think the common understanding of what racism actually is has been watered down now to a point where its kind of a joke.
There's a good chance you've handled my ass-pennies. That gives me the edge.

That shirt is really going to take a chink out of Baker's reputation as a company.

Oh no, a t-shirt offends some people. Maybe they should go after these too http://www.foulmouthshirts.com/

People are just too uptight these days. In the words of George Carlin "Words are just words, you shouldn't be upset at the words, you need to be upset and worry about the racist bastard behind those words." I see no racist bastard behind this as the rider agreed to the shirt. Can you really be racist against yourself? It's kind of like the 2002 issue with Abercrombie and Fitch shirts. http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/A...ip-2850702.php

No, because N*ggers doesn't rhyme with 'Dukes'. If the show were called 'The Diggers of Hazard' it might be acceptable as a parody in an offensive kind of way. I wonder what the Q factor is for the N word compared to the G word? I'm guessing the N word would be upper 90%. The G word? Maybe 30%.

Anyway I don't like racial slurs of any type you peckerwood cracker ass motherfuker.

if they are so offended by american humor they are not prisoners here and are free to move back to Asia since it was so awesome there in the first place because we all know that's why they left. Too much opportunity and freedom over there I guess so they came over here where everything is so restricted and illegal.

BTW asia, what's the return policy on this wife? She's a little used but maybe you could pro-rate her if I send her back?
