i use ding all wax remover. your local surf shop should have it. comb ur board then use the wax remover on a small rag to rub around the board.

Back when I made foam skims I used foam dust. Just heat the board up in the sun and throw some on the deck and rub. The wax will mix with the dust and fall off. Now I use sawdust and it seems to work just as good. Don't laugh, this is not a joke it really works. People who make surfboards do this all the time too. After that you can use acetone and a rag to finish it up.

Make sure to sand where you want to put the arch after you remove the wax. Probably want to use something along the lines of 300-400

Leave it in the sun, it'll wipe right off.

So if I'm getting a new board with a textured deck, I just have to sand it and then put on pads?
