The UST is going through some exciting organizational changes in 2012. Professional skimboarding veterans Jason Wilson, Matthieu Thibaud, and Paulo Prietto have been nominated to serve as new directors replacing former directors Bob Smetts and Trigg Garner. These new board members will serve alongside Exile Skimboards owner Aaron Peluso to help continue the UST's mission of promoting the growth and legitimacy of professional skimboarding, and the sport itself. There are already a lot of good ideas flowing from the new blood behind the scenes so expect some positive changes in the future as the UST continues to improve and grow. We would like to thank Victoria and Zap Skimboards for their past support of the UST and look forward to a bright future as the United Skim Tour continues to evolve.

this is just stupid. the contest is run by victoria. the judges selected by victoria. the winner chosen by those judges. results tabulated by victoria.

the filmer/editor was someone who victoria hired in the past to make a victoria dvd and someone who has personally put together some sick morgan just skim segments in the past.

I know you like Morgan after he came to visit... but dont be silly.

Because exile is the only company sponsoring the UST in 2012. Unfortunately Victoria and Zap chose to withdraw this year. They are of course welcome back at absolutely any time.

I was pretty bummed that Zap and Vic chose to pull out this year but am actually kind of stoked now that jason matthieu and paulo are involved. I of course hope that Zap and Vic will choose to get involved again like they were before. Hopefully sooner rather than later. The UST needs the support of all skimboarders and skimboard companies to reach its full potential.

the only thing i didnt like was the color correcting during the first half, i prefer the more inviting warm colors with a lil high saturation and contrast. The begining just seems a lil cold and dreary for me.

Why not look for another companies? Like Velocity Skimboards, Lands End Skimboards (though they should think about making something like a mexican tour),Grape skimboards, Maui Skimboards... Not Apex, Apex still sucks.

It's not just Vic,Zap and Exile.

I talked to Velocity, they said they wanted to if they could and would think it over, but I get the impression that money is really tight. I believe I followed up some months later and never got a response. I didnt talk to Paul or Scott mostly cause I think I already know the answer. That is not to say that they arent welcome to sponsor at any time. Maui I didnt really think about. Again, I would be surprised if they were interested, but pleasantly surprised. I also talked to a couple other companies that declined.

Sponsorship of the UST is open. I havent yet heard of anyone besides Vic Exile and Zap who were willing to do it in the past 5 years (which has been rad). Unfortunately Exile was the only one willing to do it this year (that I know of).
