What's difference between boards with split fish tail and regular boards???

Fish tend to be a bit shorter and fatter so they float a bit better.

History of the fish
Back in the early 70's surfboards were very long and turned too slow. So someone thought.....why not make a short board that floats & paddles like a long board. And because it's much shorter (like the wheel base on a car) it will turn a lot sharper too. Also because the tail was very wide, one fin in the middle was too short (the board couldn't hold a edge on the wave)......so they put 1 fins on each rail of the tail, which is why they called them twin fins. Can't think of anything else.....later.
