Does anyone else who rides an exile have those little staples showing on the bottom of the board right near the rail on the tail? Happened on my last board after about 6-8 months and the same with my current one. Its an s-glass too.

yep, there's about 5 staples showing on my recruit
it's not the board, it's the rider
You might try not turning in very thin water. Think of the sand as wet/dry sandpaper.=[

That sounds very common of when the tail start to wear down, and the staples start to become exposed. It's not anything to be overly concerned with as far as the strength of your board is concerned. You may want to consider having that area repaired in the future if it wears down more however. As Jim said, if you drop your board on wet sand and/or put a lot of pressure on your back foot it's basically like taking sand paper to the bottom of the board every time you drop it.

Staples should be of zero concern. However if you can see them that means there is some tail wear. If that tail wear starts to expose the foam you should consider a repair. Until then, shred the heck outta that thing.
