Hey guys so i have been skimming for about 5 years on and off in the summer because I lived 45 minutes away from a beach, but now I'm living in Santa Cruz and go about 3 or 4 times a week. I really want to get my wraps down. I think my timing is good, but when I'm about to hit the wave I seem to sink more often then not. Sometimes the board slides out form underneath my feet and shoots backwards while i fall forward or my legs get swept from underneath me and my legs bend backwards. My friend tells me I'm leaning too far back so i keep sinking? I've heard many tips like lean forward and let the wave carry you then bend your knees? and also to look at the shore when turning so it takes you that direction? It's really frustrating because I've been at the same level for a couple years now and I can't get my wrap down. I've only done it legitimately maybe 5 times?
Any advice will help and is very much appreciated! I'll try to get a video soon. Thanks!
