If it is in your legs it is probably normal unless it just came up. Did you pull a muscle by any chance?

What I think is that u should warm up and strech or a little jog on the beach before skiming.
That should help and if not u should go to the doctor or something.

Its in the calf region. In this diagram it would be the "flexor digitorum longus"

It hurts mainly from running and if i apply pressure there is pain.

I always stretch before and after i skim but I don't know of a way to stretch the area that has been hurting.

well i've never had pain in that area, but i've got plenty of experience with shin splints from my soccer days. if what you've got IS related to shin splints, unfortunately the only way to really get rid of it is to take it easy and let it heal. you can massage it out and place pressure on the veins running up your shins (this will hurt like a BITCH, but it makes it better after) for temporary relief if you get a sudden attack, but it will come right back if you start to run/other high-impact stuff again. as for stretching, try ankle rotations and putting your toe in the ground and pushing your leg forward. or have someone step on your toes while you're lying on the ground, and straighten your leg as much as possible.
All messed up and slightly twisted.
