Default First real board... did I mess up?

I'll start off by saying I'm 6'3 and around 175-180 lbs. The first ever skimboard I tried was a rented one, and that was just entirely too small for me. After that, I bought a cheap wood one at a local store, which also turned out to be too small for me, but good for one of my smaller friends, so it wasn't a total waste. After both of these didn't work out, I started doing a lot of research (mostly reading through threads on here) and figured out I've been trying to use boards that are too small for me (the last wood one was 41" I think).

Long story short, I ended up buying a used/repaired Zap Pro Carbon (item description made it sound like it's a carbon comp though, so I guess I'll find out which one it is when it comes) from east coast skimboards. I've read some threads around here where it was suggested to the OP to just buy a cheaper used carbon board, but it seems like they at least had some skimming experience. So, two questions.

    1. Did I mess up by practically going straight to a Zap Carbon board (that I'm not even sure what type it really is). I wish I would've copied the description, because now I can't view it again, but I think it was 51" or 52" x 20" x 3/4"... I think. Somewhere around there at least.
    2. Anyone else have any experience buying used/repaired boards from ECS, or any experience with them in general? My line of reasoning was, if I was able to find a good board for a good price somewhere else (I looked, nothing available at the moment that interested me), it might have damage that would need to be repaired. By buying one from a shop like ECS, one would think any damage would've been professionally repaired by them, and I would get a decent used board. But, I could be completely wrong (it's been known to happen).

    So, thoughts?

    Thanks

No problem at all to step right up to a nice board!! if you practice with it you should get used to it and get better in no time.. It shouldn't be damaged and if it is send it back.

Thanks for the input! Good to know I didn't screw myself over already. And I do expect there to be some previous damage, since it was clearly labeled as a "repaired" board, and they had two pictures of some imperfections. But from what it sounds like, ECS is a reputable online retailer and hopefully all the repairs were done by them, and are top notch.

Got the board in today. Can anybody identify it and tell me which model it is?

    Measurments are about 52.5" L x 19.5" W

And I also noticed, there is a small dent in the bottom. Will this affect performance?

I think all Zap carbon boards are comps or pro models.

Sounds like a medium comp , but with the appearance of a pro. And to answer your question, If the carbon fiber is not ripped or perforated the dent wont affect performance... make sure theres no foam exposed too.
