travelodge and aliso creek inn are close to aliso. I noticed aliso creek inn is a sponsor this year so there may be a discount available? Vic would know.

If you gotta go cheap as possible, Dana Marina Inn (Dana Point) is about a half hour by bus and cheap (and dirty...)

Right on. Thanks fir the info. Is it easier to do the Balboa contest? I noticed some motel right across from pier? & would probably fly in to John Wayne

Probably about the same. Balboa contest hotel room might be a little cheaper just cause its not summer for Oktoberfest. But thats just a guess...
