Saying that course was a bit over the top is an understatement. Honestly, they were obviously just trying to create more lead changes and uncertainty by making the course damn near impossible to ride without a mistake...kinda lame, in the most brutal way possible.

The women will get better in time. Back in the day the Women's moto freestyle jump was a joke too, they just don't have the foundation the guys have.

Look at skimboarding, the women's division was a joke for a long time there too. Now a days I'm sure plenty of dudes are happy they don't have to compete against Helen Holt.

Why would you make a separate course for that? If anything it probably shamed them into training 100x as hard so they don't get laughed at next year.

For the same reasons that women play softball instead of baseball, use smaller size soccer balls and basketballs, and have special bike frames. They are physically inferior.
