    Default Puerto rico

I am going on a cruise to puerto rico. I did use the search bar but I do have an extra question that wasnt covered. Is there any where to skim in San Juan and is that area safe? Thanks in advance.

Do you happen to know how far the closest one is from the port?

The beaches near San Juan are mostly beach goer beaches. When you go near Isabella, hobos, tres palmas, you'll start scoring some waves in those areas. It's a small island, you can cross the whole thing in about 2 hours. Take a little trek to the better spots, you won't regret it.
    You've got that nasty bounce.

when are you going? i'll be there in 2 or 3 weeks... psyco we should meet up and skim! anyways, san juan does have some shady areas, i know youre a younger dude so just watch your back if youre wandering around alone and keep an eye on your stuff.
from a previous post of mine:
tocones; good with a small swell and south wind. for san juan add la concha and the marriott in condado. both are a great alternative to ocean park...less crowd and more consistent. la concha can get some alright left to right liners if it's deep enough with a high tide, although it's really inconsistent. the beach in front of the marriott gets some fun east coast style wraps, and if the sand and tide is set up right you can get some nice point break like set up; think small santa cruz style step on lines right off the rocks, or if it's big, whip out a bungee or something and go around the rocks. again, south winds are ideal. for isabela add shore island. sick spot with some super heavy shorebreak. the sand plays a huge factor here, i haven't visited it enough times to figure out which season has the best setup. really small swell for this spot; i've seen jobos be pretty much flat, and then shore island will have stomach-chest high macking barrels. i wish i'd be able to point out the spots i've visited in the south because they're a lot of fun, but i have no idea what the beaches are called and don't remember how to get there .

edit: found one of the south coast spots with some quality shorebreak. plug this in and it should take you there: 18.01412,-65.846815
it's really hard to find and full of spongers, has a sick point break for surf on the far east side of the beach.

Ocean Park is a good spot like 10-15 minutes max to get there from the port.
