Default What do you guys think about this board.

What do you guys think about this board: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SKIMBOARD-51...37381953342019

I weight 155lb and my height is 5'9'' ... I would like a cheap board but still be able to ride some waves.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd be careful..brand name skimbaording brands know what they're doing and for the most part are worth the money..that nose rocker looks weird ( could be the picture but I'd still be careful) and I usually like to buy products from companies who at least know that the word "tough" is not spelled taugh..

You could find a much better high end used board for around the same price (although probably a little more) in the for sale section or on craigslist in case you decide not to go with the ebay board..

Edit: I'm not positive, but I think most of the main skimboard companies don't use wood stringers (I don't know the pros and cons of wood stringers either)..As far as I know, they use a different method of shaving the foam blank in order to give the board rocker, wich I'm guessing allows the boar to be structurally stronger, but again I don't know... also, most companies use 5/8s or 3/4s for standard rail thickness, not 7/8s

That's a better quality board, but it's a little big for you.

would it be that bad if the board is a little big. Would I be able to ride it, or it is just going to be too hard that is not worth it?

also here is another one if someone can take a look: http://orlando.craigslist.org/spo/3013615655.html

and another one that might work : http://daytona.craigslist.org/spo/2976041549.html

the last victoria looks like the best buy..the only thing that I would say is be careful of the ultra vac..its a great shaped board, but the older ones have the tendency to fall apart..my brother had one and so did my friend and they both snapped within a year without insanely hard use, just regular wear and tear..I heard they fixed the durability problem in 2011, but I personally am always cautious now with Ultras..if you do decide to go with an older model ultra, always make sure to keep good care of it and fix the dings promptly so the foam doesn't start deteriorating (they don't use closed cell foam in the ultra to keep the cost low)..great board, just not durable

Ogravity, check the Boards for Sale thread on this site. Usually better deals and selection than Ebay and you can negotiate...
