Default RIP Jr Seau - dead at 43

Guy should be living life to the fullest right now. He shot himself in the chest, same thing Dave Duerson did a couple years ago so his brain could be studied for effects of multiple concussions (his brain turned out to be all messed up).

Sad day. It's been such a shitty offseason NFL-wide.

Well maybe the NFL needs to start taking care of their players instead of just shitting out superstars with multiple medical conditions.

yea this is a really sad day Seau was a great player. seems to be lots of suicides these days...I think people need to pay more attention to mental health issues and the root causes of them.

always disliked playing Jr. until he was a Patriot. had to love the guy no matter what though, he was such a great personality in the game and really loved football. My other friend who's a pats fan got to meet him in person.

well my autographed headliner of him just went up in value.

He also shot himself in the heart so they could study his brain apparently, who knew so many hits to the head could be a bad thing.

I'm not going to humor anything. Educate yourself on the severity of clinical depression. While I agree that killing yourself puts an unfair stress on friends and family, the actual amount of mental anguish that would push someone to think that's their only option is heartbreaking. It's avoidable by all means. Calling him a coward is ignorant. Our society needs to work on making mental health issues less taboo.

dude was rich and he killed himself. yeah, I'd say he's insane. I just hope he didn't leave anything in his will to his hoodrat friends/family, and it all trickles back down into actual real society.

You won't humor me because your claim is lacking thorough rationale. I am quite familiar with psychopathology, as am I with treatment options. You agree with my family-directed condolences and state additionally, that suicide is by all means avoidable. If "society" needs help reducing stigma against mental health issues, wouldn't the catalyst then be in the hands of the mentally ill who have the means to acquire treatment? If 'depressed' teenagers and 'unstable' celebrities stopped killing themselves, there would be no public spectacle, which would then reduce the idea that a stigma exists in the first place. To label me ignorant for calling Seau a coward only proves ignorance of yourself. Heartbreaking? Yes, indubitably. But with the amount of money he had, combined with the size of his social circle, he had no reason to commit suicide. There were many options for him to choose in order to find help, but to say "frack it, I can't take it anymore" shows he was weak. Educate yourself, cause it sounds like your a little insane in the membrane.

Must be nice, not having clinical depression. Sure does make it easier to make rational decisions. I dont normally agree with sealice, but youre ignorant as a motherfuucker.

you guys all seem to be overlooking the fact that SDSkim was Seau's best friend and has personally faced every traumatic experience known to man.

Do you not understand that family and friends are two of the greatest resources for a patient suffering from depression? They can facilitate treatment induction, support treatment procedures, and continue healthy practices post-treatment. The amount of people Seau was in regular contact with increased his chance of alleviation. He decided/ignored/was ignorant, or what have you, against using that vital component.

Kurt Cobain was a coward too. So was the guy that jumped off the Coronado Bridge last year.

While this a completely valid argument, that I have NOT experienced every traumatic event known to man,

Neither has sealice or LAX. Neither have you. Neither has anyone in the world. You are forgetting what we are arguing about, that those individuals who commit suicide are big pussies.

Someone who was considered mentally ill had the potential to be helped but ignored it? And that's his fault yes I see this now.

yeah and having cancer doesn't mean you're going to die. It still happens. It doesn't always mean you can't, but sometimes you may really be mentally unable to do so.
