Windy conditions

Usually with windy conditions it is lame to skim and don't even bother going to the beach.

But this arvo was pretty good for me, I ride regular run with the bored on my right and get on BFF, and today was rather windy but blowing SSW which is fine with me since I can run with the wind and it didn't effect me at all.
My cousin tho had a bit of trouble running with the wind but he is goofy and holds the board on his left, I couldn't understand how it was difficult for him... Maybe since I hold the board on my right my body blocks most the wind from my board letting it drop normally. I'm definitely going to go more often when it a SW wind find it almost easier than a dead calm day.

Anybody here have trouble skimming when the winds blowing with your regular direction. ie running left or right or straight out.

Any tips would be good, since we are noob skimmers.

Try kicking sand on the bottom of your skim, it will make it heavier so it will drop faster. Back in the dayz, I put sand on top of my skim (middle) and it worked OK, then I told Tex and soon everyone was doing it. Later.....someone thought of kicking sand on the bottom of the board, and that was even a better idea.

Im goofy footed and started going bff. i was just skimming in some really windy conditions and tried kicking sand on my bord but whenever i went to drop it, it stuck and didnt move..what am i doin wrong?
