"Please remember, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. We ask that you respect the family members and those involved until the trial ends." Good line. Modern public opinion is definitely guilty until proven innocent.

That's really sad to hear though. If the son did do it, then he deserves what he gets. That's fracking despicable. If it was someone else, I hope they find them.

I don't see why his son would do it.....because I heard his father had money problems.

This is really sad under any circumstance.

Jim, there are lots of possible explanations. Life insurance would be a classic one.

Like I said though, just sad.

I am going to add skimx skimboard halfpipe to the list of things not worth killing my dad over.

I'm just going to say, Chris Jr's ex-fiance is gnarly. Her involvement in this is a lot more than appears right now.

Chris Jr. was oddly obsessed with his father (or brainwashed), he would have never done this without being talked into it by an outside force (ex-fiance)

Not fully, Life insurance is part of the reason. We, as stock holders, fired Jr from the company 3-4 months ago when the info started to appear and the "100s of thousands of $$$$$$ were noticed missing. We hired a lawyer and are now suing the life insurance policy to try and get some money back.

awesome that "skimboarding" actually got some financial backing and this is what happens ..

Brian was a manager at the first Skim X location. I sat next to Brian at the Funeral services while investors were coming up and sharing their grief for Sr loss. We were also the first people that Chris Jr he came up to after the services ended. I think that more than qualifies him to be able to give an inteligent opinion on the events and Skim X.

they don't want to/or choose to ignore the fact that flatland was the reason someone was able to get millions of dollars in investment money, whether they stole the ideas or not, can't hide from fact .

They said that they had a dream in 2007 that combined Skate ramp with Skimboarding. Then they took the investors to the premire for nothing is cool and to sac skimfest and recieved millions of dollars in investment money to open up skim X.

And this is how that was recived by the skim community.

They wanted credit for things they did not have anything to do with and were out to exploit the Flatland scene.

Enjoy the needle you f-ing idiot. If the ex was the main influence behind this (as posters in the know are saying) she will be facing a lot more than accessory after the fact. If she was the catalyst though, why would she give him up? He'll certainly testify against her to save his life. Greedy fracks those two.

    Bizarre and sad.

I think that people were more upset with the idea that the guy was claiming to have invented this "new sport" of extreme skim. From his original release back then, he came across like he wanted credit for inventing the sport of skimboarding.

SkimX was originally at a different location with all the ramps and set ups outside. They eventually closed down that location and felt like an indoor location would be the best to get year around business because they we're lossing money. They were getting ready to open this new indoor location and these events transpired.

I could be wrong but I'd imagine it would be difficult to keep a place like this profitable....

    Terrible tragedy.

The "concept park" was open from April 2009 - early 2010.. i'd say we averaged around 15-18 kids a day. most was probably 50 kids one saturday with 2 birthday parties.

No idea. I know they were useing swimming pool pumps, it must be some serious cheddar to run. I don't know how many of them were being ran at one time either. I never stepped foot in SkimX, just seen the prototype he had built in their back yard and rode and filmed on it. We had to sign these wavers to see it, we couldn't take pictures of it and I had to leave what I shot with them (but I already knew that going in). It was everything that happend after that made me not want to help them.

I never thought I would of seen anything like this go down in my life. It's all so insane
