You should be able to find what you need on one of these sites that support skimboarding.

    eastcoastskimboards.com

    mainstreetsurfshop.com

    alleyoopskim.com

    skimcity.com

I have no idea whats up with skimshop and kinda doubt anyone else does either...

In the past Skimshop has sponsored contests, riders, in other words "supporting the sport".
Indeed they have been a little quiet the past few years (who didn't hurt during this recession?), but we heard from them few weeks ago actually, they are rebuilding site, restructuring the business and buying some Skimboards. Give them a little bit of time and I am sure they will do what they can to "support the sport" again. That was to answer ZackEdoo about "what's up with Skimshop?" I guess if you email them they would answer you and you would get real answers.

This may be true, but I wouldn't call their traction pads "crappy"...They have pretty good grip and they stick foreverrrrr

One of the things that I have always truly enjoyed about skimboarding and this forum in particular, is that you have almost instant access to pretty much everyone involved in the sport. That isn’t the case with a lot of industries and really is an amazing thing. So what better person to hear what’s up with Skim Shop than from the owner.

As you saw, we launched a new site and are growing our selection again. Skim Shop still has the same quality brands, the same quick shipping, customer service, cheap prices, and all that good stuff. Believe me, the people that choose to shop with us get nothing less. That’s the way its been for the 9 years we have been in business and is not going to change any time soon.

I will save the “bad economy” speech, but Matthieu pretty much nailed it and was the major reason why Skim Shop hasn’t been able to sponsor contests, riders, magazines, etc so aggressively like we have in the past. In my opinion things are looking up in regards to the economy, skimboarding is sick and it’s time to be positive. If you guys have any other questions about Skim Shop feel free to hit me up.

skimshop pads are the only pads i've ever owned that haven't peeled off a board. not sure why you're saying the site sucks, skimobx. i've ordered a high end board & traction from them and did not have any problems

i was talkin about how they were terribly placed on most of the boards. I wasn't saying they sold bad boards. They shouldn't put the traction on because people have personal preferences.

Yes, I agree about the economy. This last Christmas was the worst, but it does seem like things are picking up. Just hang on a little long and you'll see.......

I liked Skimshop. I don't know why someone implied that the pads were "crappy." I loved those things. They did their part for the sport back when they were up and running. I heard good things about their wetsuits. I thought it was cool that they stocked the long sleeve spring just because that's a prime suit for skimming.

Dave, I hope everything works out and you guys get back on your feet again.

Both me and my friend both bought our first boards from them. Pretty good prices, free shipping, and free traction pads. Nothing to complain about there. Plus, I like their traction pads alot. Still sticking great, and they have worked fine for me.

I was a big fan of skimshop too...I was just curious because it seemed that they were a lot more relevant a few years ago when I first got into skimming than they are now. I definitely understand the economy bit. nothing but the best of luck to you guys at skimshop
