does anyone know of a website or info line to call for SC beaches that provides blackball days/times, no skim zones, etc. during summer months?

Does anyone from Santa Cruz ever skim by the pier? I remember being in SC and the pier looked like it had some potential.
You really don't have to worry about no-skim zones. I've seen capitola blackballed a couple times on really really crowded weekends, but that's about it. 26th is always good to go.
And next to the main beach pier you might find half-way decent skim occasionally, but there's normally something better around town somewhere.
santa cruz never is blackballed
South end 26th.... Gracie was getting over there the past two days....
Skimboardin sucks....

some shots from last year. Summer time i update often. Winter has less skim so less updates
yea skim there all the time its great
I skimmed Hooper's all the time back in the early 80's. That place has snapped and dinged lots of boards.=[ As a matter of fact, I think we were the first ones to skim Hooper's, the reason is people in santa cruz were just starting to ride waves, and on wood skims too.=] So as far as I know....that was the first time anyone in santa cruz rode a wave on a skim.

Hoops is the first time I saw skimboarding on waves, I didn't even know what it was but said to myself I must try that! The rest is history almost 20 years later I still love it like I was 12.
As far as I know this was the first guy ride a wave in santa cruz and it was at 26th (on a homemade wood skim) in the early 80's, his name was Jim Denevan. He also became my first team rider too.=]

Ha ha I know Jim! I used to see him at 26th flipping his board in the air and catching it. I seen him around recently to.
