    Exclamation ATTN SLO skimmers!

Do you guys ever venture south a lil and go to guadalupe? its pretty badass alot of the time. i have been going there for a while now and have never seen anyone else... super steep beach and great shore break. on occasion, the shore break gets HUGE. you should really go check it out:

101 exit Main St, head west on Main all the way till you get to the beach.. its about 10-12 miles from the freeway. They lock the gate around sunset so make sure your out by then.

here is a couple video clips of me there the other day...:

(i have a larger board on order...)

here goes me, ass over elbows! had potential for a good lanch...but...

back foot comes off board just before i reach the wave,.... HAHA:

yeah, when i lived down there my friends told me about guadalupe, they had gone there one time when they were freshman to hang out and get high, they told me it was really steep, but we never ventured down there cause we were broke and could barely afford to get to pismo or osos twice a week

those vids look better then most beaches in slo, damnit

well u figure 10 miles furhter than Santa MAria, so... and yeah it gets way bigger... this is just the video i happen to get that day. guad is the type of place where if the wind is manageable and there is ANY swell at all.. the shore break will be good. so go check it out

I might have to try guadalupe this summer, it looks fun.

If any of you poeple from slo want an pretty good place to skim(for around slo), a couple weeks ago I found a good skim spot in san simeon. Its a small beach with really rocky sand a little ways past cayucos. I have only been there once and it was a low tide and waves were barely reach able but I think if you hit it at high tide you could have a fun little session.

Yes In-N-Out is a huge perk, but whats even better is Romo's Market in the center of Guada, its a small market that has a burrito bar in the back, and HOLY SHIT the best burritos ever.. $3.25 and its the size of a brick... AND make sure you tip the guy a buck and be sure he sees you do it.. then you'll get a real good one.
Its on the west side of the main drag in Guad. big sign ROMO"S MARKET.

I went to shell that day...it was ok but windy! And what the hell is up with it being a college beach. I think that that part of it sucks. I nearly steped on a beer bottle cap!

yeah it was nice... there were some spots that were steep and others that were more flat... im still workin on the 1 step so the less steep parts work well for me. it should be good for ya.
    what time are you going?

I haven't skimmed sandspit yet, do you guys go to the cove. Because everytime I am there at the cove it seems to just be really heavy whitewater. Is it bwtter at a differnet spot?

if its steep enough and not windy sandspit tends to be better. The cove with the big rock in the center isnt sandspit. Sandspit is like a mile or before there and there is a small sign for it. You drive down a road to a parking lot then walk down a long path to get to the beach.

i've see the cove past sandspit with some awesome shorebreak, very clean and consistent, best ive seen in the area actually

the only problem is the beach is literally nothing but rocks, its pretty much physically impossible to skimboard there, let alone walk around for very long without shoes or sandals on, but if it ever gets enough sand in there to be rideable then keep an eye on it, it has a lot of potential

Yeah I was thinking of Montana de Oro. Has there been a lot of slope lately at sanspit and how close are the waves? You should try to take some pics when your their.

i would if i had a camera. Last time i was there it was pretty steep. Like as steep as i would want it probably. There are some waves breaking directly on shore(decent shape not great) and some that dont even break until after shore(those ones suck). But if you get a little speed and hop over a bump or two you can get to some sick waves that have some pretty good shape and will give you a fun ride. And the water is rushing in real hard so you get alot of float out to waves because of relative speed.

The waves definitely are alot more powerful there too then other breaks in slo so if you get to a wave late get ready to be pwned. Unlike shell where you can just get off yoru board and let the wave hit you.

Sounds fun. This summer when I get my license (early July) I think I will be making a few trips to sanspit. I can hardly wait.
