Default some advices on the dude cruise

perhaps i have found an italian exile dealer so i can take the dude cruise.
which size i have to take?
    i'm 145 lbs.
the yatch 95-160 or the cruise ship 145- 200?
what is the best compromise between float and agility?
for the thickness i think the best choice is 3/4 tapered in the nose and tail.
    thanks.

    cant go wrong with either,
Id say best bet is go 3/4 tapered yatch, get your extra float from the 3/4 and get your extra agility form it being a smaller size.
Best i can say without knowing your ability, wave type, speed. ect.

    thank you.
i'm a rookie skimmer, i'm able to catch some little wave.
i have a good drop but i have to work on the wave wraps.
the wave in italy are irregular and very far from the beach, for this i think that 3/4 tapered to 5/8 in the tail and nose is the best choice.
    what do you think?

I weigh exactly 145 and recently picked up a used yatch. You can definitely notice its "beefiness" over a standard shape in the same weight range so I would stick with the yatch instead of the cruise ship.

It was super fun taking it on a small day in malibu this past weekend

I weigh ~145 and use a 3/4ths excelsior. Board never sinks

i have seen on the zap web site that even the height is important.
    i'm 5,84.
perhaps the cruise ship is right form me.
i have many doubts because italian waves are very far from the shore.

I think the height of a person is important too. Why? Because if you're really tall and skinny, your weight might be for a small, which might make your front foot too close to the nose. Making the board ride bad.......get it?

He dosent know what size you should get but he is saying that if you are tall and have a wide stance you will have a hard time riding the board because there would be alot of weight on the front of the board. If you are small I would just get the yacht, I am 135lb and 5'9 ish and I ride a medium exile which is 52 inches, the yacht is only 50 inches which I would think would be fine because I have a decently wide stance and I never have problems with me too far on my front foot to make the ride bad.

Something to think about.......float only comes into play when you're going slow. Because when you're going fast, you're not floating anymore......you're planing.

If where you live has more shore break and bigger waves I suggest getting the cruise ship but in 5/8...that's what I have and it's great for all conditions.

if you would have bigger waves and heavy shorebreak why even get a dude cruise? I would get the pro shape for a faster turn.
Edit: he also said that the waves were small and far out so I would get a cruise ship in 3/4 tapered to 5/8 for extra float

Small board = quicker turning, but with less planing surface (sinks faster).
Larger board= slower turning, but with more planing surface (floats longer).
Or you could ride a smaller board and side-slip out.
