yes. i like utorrent because it is very well designed, doesn't require an installer (stand alone app), and is very efficient (takes up extremely small amount of disk space and system resources while running).

Okay I have azureus and its downloading. Its a little slow though, like 3 hours for a 73 mb download. Its that because of the source itself or is that something with my computer?

also pay attention to the number of seeders. Obviously the more people seeding, the faster you'll get it.

i understand what i asked was wrong according to the rules, but i just dont see how discussing torrents, how they function, how to use them, were to find them, and who's the best is not a rule violation.

Because Torrents, in and of themselves aren't illegal - even if it's only a +very+ small percentage of files that don't violate some (copyright) law (It's the classic P-to-P argument).

Example:

How do you burn a DVD? (OK - could be original content)

How do you burn a GameCube Game? (Not OK - obviously copyrighted material)

yup. For instance, I run a python bittorrent server off my home comp. If I want to distribute some files to my friends, I create a torrent file that points to my server and email it to all of them (or make it available some way). Often it's original content. Nothing illegal there.

I know peluso doesn't want people posting links to specific warez downloads like a photoshop app torrent. It's a no brainer, and most people wouldn't have posted that to begin with. And I didn't "chew you out", I was gentle about it because it wasn't a big deal.

I don't know that peluso wouldn't allow threads on filesharing clients, so I left the thread.

I'm not sure what else you want from me?
