Truth. He found a group that goes every year. They've been going together for a long time and one guy dropped out so he got a spot. It's a 3 acre island with only these dudes on it at the time. I think there are about 3 or 4 different reef breaks you can paddle or boat to. Surf, party, surf, party, surf, party, surf, party some more, take a night trip to another island and drink homebrew booze with the locals, surf, party, surf some more. I need to get decent at surfing and go!

I'm in the market for a short board. I've been rocking a 6'6'' bullet for about 6 years and I'm looking for a short board I can rip small waves on. I'm 5'10'' and 155lbs. Looking for a board that's like 5'8'' - 5'10'' that I can ride. Any suggestions? Much appreciated. Rep for help.

Maybe not that exact model, but something like it that is around that width height and thickness (I'm 5'10'' and 155lbs.) that I can throw around like crazy and yet still floats me.

Here's what I like about this fish^, it's got a nice wide nose to match the tail. Which makes it easy to paddle and catch waves, why you ask? Because with a narrow nose you need to move back on the board or the nose will go under......so by doing that it makes the board real hard plane when paddling it. The bottom line is get a fish that looks like this one^. BTW, I don't know how many fins this board has, but I like only two, why? Because that's all a board really needs. Go ahead and get 3, 4 or even 5, it will just make it stuffer and add a lot more weight, it up to you.

BTW, for me this board has to narrow of a nose, a narrow nose belongs on a longer board not a short board.....but that's just my 2 cents.

there was a red tide today i think. waves weren't amazing but the water was cool at least.
are your eyes burning like all hell right now? if so you could be right... water temps are way over normal this year
no burning or anything. but there was a ton of stuff in the water today, jellyfish too.
Are you wearing a wet suit? if so then I doubt that would be a red tide.

i am but the water is really warm. it's just a 1.5mm top. i just wear it to keep the sun off me and if it gets windy it helps. certainly didn't need it.
Surf in st Augustine is going to be firing on tuesday and wednesday! 4-6 ft with offshore winds, 5 stars on magic seaweed!
any ECers scoring today/recently? first cane swell I've missed in a long time... moving to CA is a good reason, still would've liked to get this one though. I'm seeing some great shots
Finally made it to the beach tonight, had a little late night session and scored some fun ones. Tomorrow and sunday should be good as well, so stoked to finally have some waves!

St. Augustine pier/dredge area went offfff today! A lot of the heavier barrels on the dredge side were spitting
unreal surf this past week. if i surfed waves like this everyweek id be brain dead. its too many.
