any of you guys know if the stuff you repair bike tire inner tubes with works to repair wetsuits? there's a tiny like half inch rip at the bottom of my zipper, and that flap thats on the inside of the suit is behind it. I don't need a whole jar of cement and according to other internet sources, that bike tire stuff is the same stuff. Plus there's a bike store right near me. anybody ever hear/try that?

Just picked up a used 5'11" Fish by Solid. Do you guys have any fin suggestions? Its a thruster setup with fcs plugs. thanks guys

Speaking of guns.....here's one from the past. It was called a mini gun, as far as I know it was the first attempt at making a shorter board. When it came out in the 60's it won the steamer lane contest in santa cruz. Then the next big step was the twin fin fish. I agree with Jim, dont get the cement... just get a tube of the wetsuit glue it works really well... my wettie had a six inch tear right where yours is, below the zipper. My fin sliced it... Just take two little clips and clamp the section of the tear on both ends and fill the tear with some glue... wait a few minutes and take the clips off and push the two sections together, and your all good bro

Yeah i will now, I'm still at school and I had my skimboard and suit here, and there's no surf shops here, and I don't have a car. So I figured if I did end up going i'd like to have it fixed but I'll just wait until next week when I go home.
And now I still need to get a surfboard, still trying to find a 4 fin or 2 fin modfish or something like that.
The thing with wetsuit glue is.....you need to brush it on both sides and let it dry before you put it together.

I am looking in to buying my first surfboard soon, after i go surfing a few more times and get the hang of it. But i was wondering what the different fin numbers do, like what would a board with two fins do better than a 4 fin and vice versa.

so from skimming for 6 years (not even living by the beach), i'm consistently dropping in on my first board and learning to go both ways after only 6 months surfing. it's a 5'0 Anderson Physh (retro fish, twin fin) i'm riding, and i weigh 150. so stoked on my new favorite thing to do

I myself like only 2 fins, but that's a personal thing. I think 2 fins is all you need, they have less drag, less fins to break off and less fins to get your leash wrapped around. Also as most of you know, I'm really sold on the retro fish shape for beginners or advanced surfers.

I made a thruster and it turned good, just don't like all those fins to catch my leash on though. Now think......the more fins in the water the more the drag, right? It's not rocket science......or maybe it is.=)

Its an interesting job, in my old high school i did a french exchange for 2.5 weeks in france. Now i'm returning as an assistant chaperone, and watching over the high schoolers. Typically i would be placed in a hotel, BUT there was one french boy (16) who didn't have an american to stay with him and yet he was a part of the exchange (aka he went to america). So I'm staying with a french family and the kid just happens to be the biggest surf nut around, we go out all the time, and I'm using one of his boards. French family is great, i get bad ass french food 24/7. Family loves me too because I can actually speak french unlike the high schoolers who only have a couple years of the language under there belt.
At school I work on a website/blog that the parents of the american students look at to keep up with everything. I also work on video taping the groups travels to small towns, tours, etc, and then make videos.
Only down side was paying 2800 dollars for the trip. I figure its worth it considering how much fun i'm having, and factoring in food/living. But essentially I get to put this job down on my resumé which is perfect because i'm an international business major.

The picture is very deceiving. There was about a millimeter sticking out of each, and I was able to get both out in a matter of seconds. I was just pissed I snapped a fin! For yesterday and today, I had to run with a twin fin, but using the small trailer fins. Real skatey.

Hey guys, I don't surf that much but I would like to get into it more. I'm not that good, at all, I can pop up and ride down the line, and thanks to skimboarding I can sorta maneuver a surfboard. Anyways, I'm looking to get a board that I can surf on like knee - chest high waves that's easy to catch waves. What do you think about this?
