Yes I agree that you have to use the right suit at the right time, my 5/4 will obviously be hot as frack in September and half of October, only right now does it really start its usefulness.

Thought I would post here instead of making a new thread. Should this wear on my wetusit be considered normal? It is only a year old, is kept inside and rinsed with fresh water every use and it is starting to let in water from all over and I think it is because of this, and this is starting to happen all over the suit but it is mainly the chest area.
For got to say this is not a cheap suit, it is an oneill psycho freak

considering you're from santa cruz you should know about good wetsuits. rep the local wetties and get an oneill. They last forever

edit: judging by the red lining that might be an oneill. Do you leave it out in the sun and use wetsuit conditioner?

That is an Oneill Psycho freak, so it is not so shitty, I have used the wetsuit conditioner once (is this bad?), but it is always left in my shower to dry , then stored in a cool place out of the sun.

thats so strange. I've had my oneill for 1.5 years and its basically like new. if what you're saying is true you should be able to get something out of the warranty. an oneill wetsuit should at least last 1 year imo, but I'd expect 3-4 years.

I just hope they cover it because by the time I get back home t will be over a year old, could it be anything to do with it being a clearance suit (been sitting around for a while)? And I dont get why only the inside seals are rotting away.
But thanks for confirming that this is not normal.

clearance might be it. are you absolutely sure it wasn't a used suit you bought? Honestly a wetsuit isn't something you want to halfass on. I wouldn't buy clearance unless you really scraping for money. I'd rather wait a while and save up to get a good new one than buy clearance.

just curious you bought it at the oneill clearance shop on 41st?

Yes I agree, it looks like heat got to the seam, did you ever put it in the clothes dryer? BTW never do that!

Nope not that stupid, but It has felt a bit dry on the outside, the worst sun it gets is the 20 minute walk to my spot and back, or when I am at home it stays in the back of my car while I drive home. Then stored in my bathroom.
The only thing I can think of is that I may be a bit big for my suit but I am pretty sure I am in the limit of the small (5'11 and a bit and 140 pounds so I am sorta between sizes).

Yeah.....I was thinking that you were maybe too big for the suit too. Does your suit fit tight?

Not super tight, still have excess in the back, stomach, and armpits, tried a ST but seemed to big.

Speaking of wetsuits, there's a small hole right under the zipper on mine that i need to fix.

Well bb16, I don't know what it could be then. It does look like it's been stretched though. Maybe it get stretched out when you take it off and on. Think back, do you pull hard on your suit to put it on or take it off?

Next pla5tic_bag, if the hole is at the bottom end of the zipper, that happens to my suits too. The reason is.....the zipper on wetsuits doesn't stretch, so it rips where it does stretch.

Edit: even though I worked at O'Neills, I didn't do repair. I only was a salesman and then worked in the wetsuit design department.
