    Default Ollie

I've gotten to a good one step drop finally and gotten plenty of rotation doing 360s+. I would like to learn how to ollie with my board and am stuck on the Gulf Coast and don't get any waves. Tying to spice up the boring flat land with no ramps. Tips on getting the board off the water?

learn to ollie on a skateboard, that really helped me. you also have to push down on your tail pretty hard to get any air

try going off little bumps of rolling in waves and do the motion of the ollie. that used to help me

back foot as far back as it can go on your board, this will make popping way easier

-back foot needs to be far back
-need lots and lots of speed
-do it on water that rushes up so you have more float

then just ollie like you would if you were doing a baby ollie on a skateboard and it will pop right up. if you try too hard your never gonna get them, they are simple and easier to do when your just messing around when your just learning them
it's not the board, it's the rider

^those are all good tips, but from searching quickly on You Tube I found this video. Also just by watching flatland videos, you can learn quite a lot by modeling what they do.

keep your back foot back, it helps as well as booking it.

I'm definitely not an expert on this. but i would suggest having your back foot farther back. The farther back you stomp, the more the front pops. and make sure you are really sliding that front foot up. I practice ollies by putting my board on my mattress and jumping that way. Give that a try

It seems like it's easier to do a shuv-it than ollie, try that.

Skateboard ollies require alot of precision to do them right, on a skimboard it doesn't have to be perfect, it just takes some getting to know your skimboard. Put alot of pressure on your back foot (just like your smacking the tail of a skateboard on the ground) if you can slide your foot up then great, if not then it's not really required. Something that helped me is trying to jump the whitewash, when you see the whitewash coming in, try jumping off it like you would a ramp.

You could do a 180 or a 360 pop shuvit like in this video. Like I said, a shuvit seems to be easier to do than a ollie for most people. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdG41nogayI&NR=1
