I recently started noticing a big improvement in my drop and wave riding and I was wondering if it might be a good idea to go for a smaller board. I currently ride 2 diffrent boards regularly(one hybrid, one pro shape) and their both ms and i weigh around 165. What are the possible advantages or disadvantages of me getting a small?

stick with what you have. I wouldn't even bother going smaller unless you live where it's actually useful(Laguna,Cabo, or Newport)
