You can't make a valid comparison with boardsports, or any physical activity, really. With any physical activity you're trying to improve your own body's ability to accomplish something, and the enjoyment comes from striving to improve that skill. Buying more shit to rice up your car so it goes faster is not even in the same ballpark. Again, it's fine if that's what you're into, but comparing it with boardsports is apples vs. Oranges.

I don't blame people people for spending money on cars if they really enjoy it. I dont particularly understand it though. I just don't really understand the satisfaction of having a faster car than someone else. It's just a hunk of metal and rubber.....

But to each his own. I'm just happier spending my money on running, skiing, travelling and reading.

I was referring more to the actual driving side of things. Drag racing is a bad example imo, but tracking a car at a circuit is a different story. It takes a great deal of mental focus and physical conditioning (some cars more than others) to drive a car at a fast pace around a track. The upgrading is just a by product of wanting to be faster, but the actual developing of skill is much like a boardsport.

Also, I can't find a Civic beating a Viper any where and can almost guarantee it's on a small or twisty circuit. Put it on something like Road America or the Nurburgring and I bet the Viper walks away. Assuming said Viper is the Viper ACRX.
I'd take the Lambo too, but for those of us that can't afford a high end car, Hondas give the most bang for buck. I've been driving a Civic now for 3 years, it handles excellent, they are easy to fix, parts are easy to get, 33 MPG and when I want to race it turns into a street machine. That's all I ask for out of a car

thats like my old man. used to have a lifted, loud tahoe when he had the money. really cool truck, not over-done whatsoever but now he has medical bills, loss of business, etc so he was driving a FREE, really shitty minivan for the longest time, then bought another cheap van. recently when that died he just got an 08 dodge caliper, the cheapest car dodges makes i think. manual windows. no CD, etc, etc. bare bones minimum. 18k out the door for a brand new car with his inequity rolled in too

its awesome though because now i have the nicest whip in da fam. i get the driveway spot

Trucks that go fast are like powerlifters who can't do a single pullup. Useless.

Not so much to bash powerlifting.... I've just heard way too much BS spouted from truck bros about how their 9000hp truck can beat most sports cars in a race... unless of course the race course has one gentle bend, in which case the truck would then be easily beat by a honda fit. Sorry if this sounds unprovoked.

they clearly mean a drag race. gotta compare apples to apples. I'd rather have a 1000ftlb cummins then a 500 hp civic. Just my preference.

I fear I may never understand drag racing (whose dick is bigger competition) or oval racing. Oval racing can produce some really tight racing with a lot of passing, bumping, ect, but I literally get bored to tears when I try to run them in iRacing. Circuit racing is just so much more fun and challenging, but fairly boring to watch.

On a side note, my roommate and I were watching rallyx on ESPN the other day and have decided once I acquire my Miata, then next goal is to get an old Impreza and start rallyx-ing, frack yeah.

Read the stats on a B16 4.3 Liter Vtec and then repeat yourself again, I bet you won't. Of course nothing is going to get 33 MPG while racing that's not what I was saying, but when your not racing and driving normal like your driving to the grocery store, that's when you save on gas.

Does having two trucks double the penis-size-compensating effect?
