Body Glove Board on Amazon?

I've been skimming for 2 years now on a cheap, undersized (I weigh 140 lbs), plywood board that I bought from a cruddy flea-market style shop in Myrtle Beach. I'm headed to Daytona this summer and I want to upgrade my board. I also want to move into waveriding, not just sand skimming.

I know most of you probably have boards way better than this, but I'm on a limited budget (I'm married, have kids, etc...). Anyway, would someone be willing to give me an opinion on the Body Glove 44" board that Amazon.com sells? It's here.

i would imagine that is also a wood board. 50 dollars for a foam board would be like a sixth of everyone else's foam boards.. just save up. you get what you pay for in this sport

I'm sure expensive, name brand boards are far nicer. But, I believe this one is foam/fiberglass.

Please take Jake's advice... it's worth the money you save... I'm glad I saved up for a decent foamboard... you won't feel regret with a decent board...

I'd so go with a Zap Pro or a Vic. You'll be kicking yourself later on when you realize you should have just saved up for the better board instead of spending 60 bucks just to scrap the Body Glove for something you should have bought in the first place.

Yeah that board looks like garbage. Save up, you will be much happier.

I think for your weight and price point you'd probably be best with a Zap Pro. They're very good boards, and will last you a while. I got mine this time last year and its barely showing signs of wear & tear. Also its got a pretty decent amount of float, so it will probably work well for you.

EDIT: Like a few other people mentioned... you get what you pay for in skim boarding, and nothing more... lol

im speaking for personal experience. i bought a zap bat on the same principle... when i was like 11 and it was a total compete waste of money

Zap Pros are damn near industructible...and great for learning and they are pretty cheap.

If the Zap pro is a bit too much, consider a Large Wedge (160 on skimshop.com)

Check for sale forum on here too, there are good deals from time to time.
