I was wondering would it be bad if i learned on a zap pro or an exile recruit? these are the two boards ive been thinking about-http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/spo/2305523157.html http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/spo/2292486063.html

Jeez you have some big feet dude haha..Both boards would be fine to start off with. I learned on a Zap Pro. It's not amazing, but you get what you pay for and it gets the job done. Before you buy them, you should make sure they don't have any major dings or anything that will structurally weaken the board. Other than that, you should be good!

Yeah, size 16 is big, you might not want to get a round pin tail shape (it might be to narrow). I know the recruit comes in a fish shape, which is wider in the tail than a reg. shape skim. Maybe try to find out how wide the Zap pro is .......you don't want your foot hanging off the edge of the board.

whatever you get, do get a size large, at your size you probably will appreciate the extra float
